Members and gated content
MATRIZ sites can have members — visitors who sign in to see content that anonymous visitors cannot.
- Members sign in with a one-time email code — no passwords to manage.
- Import your member list (e.g. from a spreadsheet or a migrated site) or let people register through the site.
- In the editor, mark elements with audience visibility rules: everyone, members only, or anonymous only. Use Preview as to check both views before publishing.
- Member sessions are secure, signed, and scoped to your site.
Content bound to collections can also be filtered by the signed-in member — for example, a portal page that shows each member their own items.
Join modes
Section titled “Join modes”Every site has one join mode, set in CMS → Members → Settings. It decides what happens the first time a new visitor signs in:
- Open — anyone who signs in becomes an active member immediately. Use this for a site where anyone should be able to join.
- Approve — a new sign-in is held as pending: the visitor has verified their email, but can’t see member-only content until a site owner approves them from the Members list. Use this when you want to vet who joins before granting access.
- Invite-only — only people already invited (added to the Members list ahead of time) can sign in at all; anyone else is turned away at sign-in.
Switching join mode doesn’t change anyone who is already a member — it only changes what happens the next time someone new tries to sign in.
Inviting members
Section titled “Inviting members”From CMS → Members, add people ahead of time (individually, or by importing a list) and send them a sign-in link: use Send invite on one member’s row, or Send sign-in invites to send to everyone on the list at once. An invite is just a sign-in link — it doesn’t grant any access beyond what the member’s join mode and role already allow. Someone who already has an active account and hits their daily invite limit simply isn’t re-sent one.
Sign-in with Google
Section titled “Sign-in with Google”Besides the email link, members can sign in with their Google account. You connect your own Google OAuth client (your Cloud project, your consent screen) under CMS → Members → Sign-in providers; the card walks you through the three steps and lists the exact redirect URIs Google needs. Your client secret is encrypted the moment you save it and never shown again.
Member blocks
Section titled “Member blocks”The Member Areas library in the editor’s component browser drops ready-made, zero-JavaScript-authoring blocks that follow your design tokens. Everything a block needs is on the published page: the member area must be enabled in CMS → Members, and blocks that mention Google only show when Google is connected.

Identity
Section titled “Identity”Member Avatar (photo, or initials when there is none), Member Greeting (“Welcome back, Ana”), Member Name, Member Email, Member Role Badge, Sign out, Sign out everywhere (ends the member’s sessions on every device).
Account

Member Data
Section titled “Member Data”My Content List, My Entries (editable) and File Upload bind to collections where each member sees and edits only their own items.
My Entries (editable) shows a member their own submissions — including any images they uploaded, shown as a gallery — with an edit form for each one. When an entry belongs to a recurring edition, the member can keep editing it for as long as that edition’s current period has its edit switch open; once an admin closes that switch (or the period itself ends), the entry becomes read-only for the member automatically, with no separate action needed on either side. Re-submitting an edit with a multi-image field replaces the whole image set for that entry.
Showing elements to one audience by hand
Section titled “Showing elements to one audience by hand”Any element can carry a data-member-visible attribute (Properties → Attributes)
with one or more of these words; all must hold for it to show:

Unknown words hide the element. In the editor, Preview as switches between anonymous, a signed-in member, or a specific member so you can check both views; provider and join-mode words always show on the canvas.
Outcome messages
Section titled “Outcome messages”After a sign-in attempt the visitor lands on your page with one of these outcomes, which Auth Notice and Sign-in Card turn into a message: check your inbox, link invalid or expired, not invited, account blocked, Google sign-in cancelled, Google sign-in failed, Google sign-in unavailable, sign in required, profile saved.
